Of the 83 counties in Michigan, Wayne County had the most land and rural real estate for sale. The most expensive land listed for sale in Michigan on Lands of America recently was $8 million, while the median price for land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale in Michigan was $166,841. The average price of farms, ranches and other land for sale in Michigan was $314,458. There was 1,259 acres of sold land in Michigan recorded in September 2018 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects an increase in sales activity over data from August 2018. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $5.0 million. Wayne County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. Along with public hunting lands, Michigan boasts over two million acres of private land managed as commercial forest for hunters to track white-tailed deer, elk, bear, grouse and more.
