By overall acreage of land for sale, Michigan ranks 22nd. Recent internal data lists about $5 billion in farms, ranches and other land for sale in the Wolverine State, which represents almost 369,000 acres of Michigan land for sale. Grand Traverse County had the most land and farms for sale. There were 335 acres of sold land in Michigan recorded in January 2019 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a 50 percent change in sales activity over the month before, with a combined land value of $1 million for all property and land sold in the state. Jackson County had the most land sales recently in the state. Along with public hunting lands, Michigan boasts over two million acres of private land managed as commercial forest for hunters to track white-tailed deer, elk, bear, grouse, and more.
